Apple cake recipe

From time to time, I’ll post some recipes on this blog our family loves.

We’ve been making this cake for about six years. Every fall, we look for apples in our local orchard, and then make this very easy cake. It’s moist and delicious! Enjoy!

Apple cake

• 2 ½ c. flour
• 2 c. sugar
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 tsp. cinnamon
• ½ tsp. salt
• 1 c. vegetable oil
• 3 c. chopped, unpeeled apples – about three small ones (we like Jonagold or Gala)
• 3 eggs
• 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
• 6 oz. butterscotch chips

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except butterscotch chips. Spread into greased 9 x 13” pan. Sprinkle butterscotch chips on top. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
