Banana Bread with Topping Recipe

Banana bread2I love to bake, as you may know … since we own and operate and baking business and all. Whenever I share this banana bread with anyone, I’m asked for the recipe. So here you go! Enjoy!

Banana Bread with Topping

  • 6 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stick of melted butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Topping:

  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbs. softened butter
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Mix bananas, 1 stick of melted butter and 2 eggs. Mix dry ingredients and add to banana mixture. Divide between two loaf pans. Combine topping ingredients and chop fine and mix like a pie crust. Crumble over the two loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 – 60 minutes. Freezes well.
