For nine “business days,” I’m blogging about my transition from the corporate world to full-time, at home, mommy-hood … with some baking and freelance writing on the side. So join me, won’t you?
Corporate world: Fridays were jeans days at Corporate. Although we had so many jeans days, you could practically wear jeans whenever you wanted and no one would bat an eye. It was also a good day to catch up on emails, do some filing and get ready for next week.
Mommy-hood: Every day is a jeans day in our household. Or PJs, for that matter. Today’s also a good day to catch up on emails, do some filing and get ready for next week.
I’ve cleaned up my inbox, unsubscribed from some email and cleaned out our filing cabinet. I had a very large manila folder called ‘baby.’ Seriously. There were various items in it: ultrasound pictures, artwork and including instructions on how to give a baby a bath. A year later, I think I have it down, thank you very much.
I also finished up a few projects from earlier in the week, like putting away my daughter’s birthday party decorations in a tote and actually marking it, instead of just piling it up in the basement.
And just like Friday afternoons in Corporate, I’m signing off for the day around 4 p.m.
See ya next week as I start my journey home with my daughter on Monday!
